Frequently asked questions

  1. Why? We don't need another calendar.

    Correct. I wanted an aggregated and filtered list of today and tomorrow's events that's easy to view on my phone. No ads, no drop downs, no hard to remember URL, no pictures. That's it. This is very much intended to be "I'm already out and looking for something to do tonight. What's going on?" instead of planning your night in two weeks.

    Update: Per request, it now extends to the next seven days. I don't hate it. You can stop scrolling after two days if you would prefer.

  2. Filtered?

    The following kinds of events are explicitly filtered out: movies, drag, burlesque, sports, comedy, trivia, art events. I'm not interested in these, so they don't show up.

  3. What does show up?

    Venues being scanned typically host these kinds of events: live music or DJs playing goth, punk, industrial, metal, electronic, etc.

  4. Can you update it so I can filter on what I'm interested in?

    No.

  5. I see an event that's one of the types you listed as being filtered.

    The code sucks.

  6. I see a duplicate event listed.

    I've taken longer naps than the amount of time it took me to create this site. It kind of works, though.

    You probably don't actually want to know this unless you're really invested in terms like "data contract" and git diff --check: passed. But yes, it's all automated. I ain't typing all this crap in by hand.
